Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for Monday JUNE 22, 2015 #CCPS

CARELESS STORAGE

 

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Caron, 55 of Cornwall was arrested on June 18th, 2015 and charged with careless storage. It is alleged on June 18th, 2015 while police were investigating an unrelated matter the man was found to have a hunting rifle and ammunition that were not properly stored. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 30th, 2015.

 

THREATS, ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 19th, 2015 and charged with threats and assault. It is alleged during an argument on June 18th, 2015 with his 19-year-old girlfriend the man pushed her and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

 

Cornwall, ON – Michael Brand, 57 of Cornwall was arrested on June 18th, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on June 18th, 2015 the man was operating a motor vehicle in the area of Glengarry Boulevard and Second Street while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 30th, 2015.

 

Cornwall, ON – Mario Valiquette, 51 of Glen Walter was arrested on June 21st, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on June 21st, 2015 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he backed into another vehicle. Police took the man into custody when they attended to investigate the collision and charged him accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on June 30th, 2015.

 

MISCHIEF, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Luke Doucet, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on June 21st, 2015 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of probation for consuming alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 21st, 2015 the intoxicated man broke a van’s mirror while cycling on Water Street and police were contacted to investigate. The man was located a short distance away, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 23rd, 2015.

OPP

IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED

(North Dundas) – On June 17, 2015 at approximately 5:26pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 31, North Dundas Township. The stop indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

William HEWITT (80) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 30, 2015.

 

DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(North Glengarry) – On June 18, 2015 at approximately 9:59pm, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on Alexandria Main Street, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana from the adult male passenger. The vehicle was also found to be unsafe and taken out of circulation.

The passenger, Shawn MACPHERSON (20) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on August 5, 2015.

The driver, Brian JENSEN (27) of Ste Justine de Newton, Quebec is charged with;

– Operate Unsafe Vehicle (Highway Traffic Act)

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 21, 2015.
