Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for July 31, 2015 #CCPS

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Jerry Duheme, 23 of Huntington, Quebec was arrested on July 30th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on May 8th, 2013 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 30th, 2015 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and remained in custody for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 30th, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on July 29th, 2015 with his 67-year-old ex-common-law wife the man took her phone and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

 

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Hamilton, 31 of Spencerville was arrested on July 30th, 2015 and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of Fentanyl. It is alleged on July 30th, 2015 police attended the area of Eleventh Street West for a collision where a pickup truck struck several ebikes and mobility scooters that were on display. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle who had been transported to the hospital for medical attention was in possession of marijuana and Fentanyl. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 3rd, 2015. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Lee, 38 of no fixed address was arrested on July 30th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 18th, 2015 the man assaulted another man and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 30th, 2015 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the OPP Long Sault detachment as OPP had the man in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Susieanne Lariviere, 58 of Cornwall was arrested on July 30th, 2015 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of undertaking for having communicated with someone she has conditions not to communicate with. It is alleged on June 30th, 2015 the woman repeatedly communicated with a 43-year-old woman that she has conditions not to communicate with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, On – Michael Pare, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on July 31st, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on July 9th, 2015 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. In the early morning hours of July 31st, 2015 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for bail hearing.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Ahmed Mustafa, 24 of Ottawa was arrested on July 29th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 30th, 2015 for threats charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 29th, 2015 members of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Ottawa as Ottawa Police Service had the man in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

 

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 29th, 2015 and charged with assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on July 29th, 2015 with his 22-year-old girlfriend the man pushed her and damaged some of her property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 29th, 2015 and charged with breaching an undertaking for being out past curfew and two probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 29th, 2015 police attended a Lefebvre Street address for a disturbance and found the youth in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
