SD&G OPP Round Up for OCT 27, 2015

THEFT OF TIRES

(South Stormont) – On October 23, 2015 at approximately 2:09pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of Four Tires from a Business (Auto Tech Mechanical) on Warner Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that sometime between (October 23, 2015 3:30am-4:15am) Four BF Goodrich 17 inch All Terrain Tires with “Procomp Alloy” Black Rims were removed from the business.

An investigation continues.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On October 23-24, 2015, SD&G OPP officer conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Glengarry Townships and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– October 23, 2015 – 3:06pm (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 170km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (47) from Toronto, Ontario was charged accordingly.

October 24, 2015  –  11:19am (South Stormont) ; vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (22) from Toronto, Ontario was charged accordingly.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On October 23, 2015 at approximately 5:06 pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Chess Road in South Dundas Township.  Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-spouses boyfriend resulted with the male threatening the other male.

An adult male (28) from South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–              Uttering Threats ( 2 counts)

The Male was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice December 1, 2015 in Cornwall. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(North Dundas) – On October 24, 2015 at approximately 9:13 am, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry   Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Cameron Road in North Dundas Township.  Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-girlfriend had occurred the previous evening. Information was received that the male had assaulted the female victim and refused to let her leave the residence.

An adult male (54) from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–              Assault

–           Overcome Resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person

–           Forcible Confinement

The male was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 1, 2015. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

                                                            

ASSAULT AND BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On October 24, 2015 at approximately 8:16pm Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to report of an assault on Station Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male assaulted another male and caused damage to his property.  Further information revealed the adult male was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident. The adult male also resisted arrest from officers on scene.

Roch RICHER (53) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Mischief (2 counts)

– Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking

– Resist Peace Officer

The male was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
