BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Benjamin Martin, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on September 29th, 2015 and charged with breaching a recognizance for driving a motor vehicle. It is alleged on September 29th, 2015 the man was operating a motor vehicle in the area of Second Street and Pitt Street despite being on conditions not to. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 29th, 2015 and charged with threats. It is alleged during an argument on September 29th, 2015 with his 22-year-old girlfriend the man threatened to harm her and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Vincent Bryan, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on September 30th, 2015 and charged with possession of cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana and property obtained by crime. On September 30th, 2015 members of the Cornwall Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team executed a drug warrant at a Monroe Street residence and located a quantity of cocaine, marijuana and a quantity of Canadian and US currency. As a result of the warrant Vincent Bryan was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 10th, 2015.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On September 30, 2015 at approximately 2:31am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male pedestrian was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident.

Marc JODOIN (40) of South Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking (2 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on November 18, 2015.

BREAK IN

(South Dundas) – On September 29, 2015 at approximately 3:05pm SD&G OPP officers responded a report break-in at a Church on County Road 4, South Dundas Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime overnight September 28-29, 2015 culprit(s) forcibly entered the Church and removed a quantity of electronics.

An investigation continues.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On September 30, 2015 at approximately 9:10am, Stormont, Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Sir James Morris Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a male had caused damaged to his ex- common law spouses residence.

The 19-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief (2 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 13, 2015. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

 

MOTORCYCLE COLLISION

(CHAMPLAIN, ON)  On Tuesday September 22nd, shortly after 5:00 pm, the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment responded to a single motorcycle collision that occurred on Ritchance Road near Blue Corner Road in Champlain Township.

The investigation revealed that a black Harley Davidson was traveling on Ritchance Road when a piece of equipment came loose and fell off the motorcycle causing the driver to lose control. The motorcycle ended up in the ditch with the driver trapped underneath.

The 48 year old male driver of Alfred-Plantagenet sustained non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Ottawa.

The matter is still under investigation.

The Hawkesbury OPP Detachment is asking the young male who initially reported the collision to residents nearby, to contact Constable Yan Faille at 613-632-2729 or 1-888-310-1122

 

BREAK & ENTER – SAFE WITH ARCHIVES STOLEN FROM LOCAL CHURCH 

(EAST-HAWKESBURY, ON)  – The Hawkesbury OPP is still investigating a break and enter that occurred sometime overnight between Wednesday September 23rd and Thursday September 24th at the St-Joachim Church in Chute-A-Blondeau in East-Hawkesbury.

The investigation revealed that someone gained access to the Church through a window. Once inside, the thief (ves) stole a safe that contained money and an official seal, but more importantly, over 120 years of registries.

The OPP Forensic Identification Services assisted in the investigation.

The matter is still under investigation.

IMPAIRED DRIVERS

(HAWKESBURY, ON)  – On Saturday September 26 th at approximately 12:15 pm, Constable Simon Boudreau responded to a collision that occurred in the parking lot of the LCBO on Main Street in Hawkesbury.

A driver had struck a fire hydrant with his 2001 Red Nissan Sentra.

Interaction with the driver gave the officer reason to believe that he had operated his motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over the legal limit. The driver refused to provide a breath sample to the officer.

Consequently, the driver, Alain PIETTE (67 yrs) of Hawkesbury, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following sections:

– 254(5) Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample

He was later released and scheduled to appear at court on October 14th, 2015 in L’Orignal.

(NATION, ON)  – In the afternoon of Saturday September 26th, shortly after 2:30 pm, Constable Chantal Duchesne intercepted a 2005 grey Chevy Aveo at the LCBO parking lot in St-Isidore, after being seen traveling on County Road 9 in the Municipality of Nation.

Interaction with the driver gave the officer reason to believe that he had operated his motor vehicle with blood alcohol content over 80 mgs.

Consequently, the driver, Guylain POIRIER (57 yrs) of St-Isidore, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following sections:

– 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

He was later released and scheduled to appear at court on October 28th, 2015 in L’Orignal.

Assault

September 27, 2015

Time – approximately 2:35 pm.

Location – Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township

On the 27th of September 2015 police were contacted about an assault that had taken place in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township on the 25th of September. Police learned that sometime between 10:30 – 11:00 pm on the 25th of September the ex-boyfriend of the victim had broken into her home and proceeded to physically assault her. The victim, a 24 year old female was able to leave the residence and stay elsewhere. A 25 year old male from Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township was subsequently arrested and charged with Domestic Assault, Mischief X2 and Breach of Recognizance X3. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Drug Offences

September 17, 2015

Time – 2:45 pm

Location – Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township

On September 17, 2015 at approximately 2:45 pm members of the Community Drug Action Team executed a Search Warrant at residence on Totem Ranch Road in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township. Police seized marihuana plants, firearms and ammunition. On September 18th, 2015 a 35 year old male, Ryan Hartman of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township was arrested and charged with Production of Marihuana, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Failing to Comply with a Recognizance X3, Possession of a Firearm contrary to Prohibition Order and Possession of Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order. On September 18th a 35 year old female, Heather Childs of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township was arrested and charged with Production of Marihuana and Carless Storage of a Firearm. Both to attend Brockville Court at a later date.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(North Glengarry) – On September 28, 2015 at approximately 3:29pm, Stormont, Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Main Street, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had sent explicit photos of his ex-girlfriend to another person.

The 45-year-old male from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Transmit Intimate Image without Consent

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 27, 2015. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(South Dundas) – On September 28, 2015 at approximately 5:10pm SD&G OPP officers responded a report break-in at a Residence on Lyon Street, South Dundas Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime between 8:00am September 28, 2015 – 1:30pm September 28, 2015 culprit(s) forcibly entered a residence and removed a quantity of currency.

An investigation continues.

THEFT

(South Glengarry) – On September 28, 2015 at approximately 8:36am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of the theft from a property on Page Drive, South Glengarry Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime Overnight (September 27-28, 2015) a quantity of currency and car keys were removed from an un-locked vehicle.

An Investigation continues.

(South Stormont) – On September 28, 2015 at approximately 8:34am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of the theft from a property on Fraser Street, South Stormont Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime Overnight (September 27-28, 2015) a quantity of currency and GPS were removed from an un-locked vehicle.

An Investigation continues.
