DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(South Glengarry) – On February 2, 2016 at approximately 12:36am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Barry DUHAMEL (32) and female passenger, Kathy BISSONNETTE (31) both of Cornwall, Ontario were arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on April 6, 2016.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(North Glengarry) – On February 1, 2016 – SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a domestic situation which had occurred early in the day at a residence on County Road 23, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult female and her ex-spouse resulted in the female assaulting the male.

The 45-year-old female from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 23, 2016. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [LEEDS COUNTY (Brockville)] THEFT FROM LYNDHURST RESIDENT AFTER FIRE 2016-02-02

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds and Thousand Islands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate the theft of a snowmobile and trailer in Lyndhurst.
On the 1st of February 2016 O.P.P officers were advised of a theft that had occurred at a residence on Long Point Road, Lyndhurst. This is the same residence that had been damaged by fire the day before. Sometime overnight thieves had taken from the property, a 2004 Polaris Pro X 600 snowmobile with license plate # 943256, as well as a flat-bed trailer with a ramp on the back.

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped an impaired driver at a R.I.D.E. check.
On the 1st of February 2016 at about 4:00 PM Leeds O.P.P officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Lyn Road, in Elizabethtown–Kitley Township when they stopped a vehicle. Investigation revealed that the driver was impaired and was in possession of marihuana. The driver was arrested and charged with related offences.
A 51 year old man from the Athens area faces charges of Impaired Driving, and for being in possession of marihuana. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division – Brockville on the 4th of March 2016.
