Assault by Vehicle in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter for FEB 8, 2016 #CCPS

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Avonmore man was arrested on February 5th, 2016 and charged with breaching a recognizance and a youth probation order for failing to attend school. It is alleged he failed to attend school on February 4thand 5th, 2016 and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Anthony Kumo, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on February 5th, 2016 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on February 5th, 2016 the man broke a window on a van that was parked at a Pitt Street business and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 1st, 2016.

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Tessier, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation and undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 6th, 2016 the man attended a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2016 and charged with breach of undertaking for being out past curfew. He was also charged with breach of undertaking and probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his curfew during a traffic stop on February 6th, 2016. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held in custody pending return to Ottawa as Ottawa Police Service had a warrant for his arrest.

Cornwall, ON – Pierre Poulin, 36 of Long Sault was arrested on February 7th, 2016 and charged with breaching an undertaking for being out past curfew. He was also charged with breach of undertaking and probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his curfew during a traffic stop on February 7th, 2016. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON- Nicolas Merard, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on February 7th, 2016 and charged with dangerous driving, threats, assault and impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on February 7th, 2016 the man drove his vehicle in a dangerous manner towards a 38-year-old man to him. He then pushed the man and threatened to kill him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police also found the man had been driving his motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
