Habs Should Make Strong Move for KHL RW Alex Radulov by Jamie Gilcig MARCH 29, 2016

Addressing needs isn’t easy in today’s NHL.   For the Montreal Canadiens one of their needs is on Right Wing as well as getting some grit.

Alex Radulov started his career in Quebec notching 61 goals in the Q in 2005/06 playing for Quebec City.   Listed as 6’1 and 200 pounds the Russian is no light weight as he’s notched over 100 penalty minutes this season in the KHL.

Radulov has the character to be one of the type of players that flourishes in Montreal, and is an easy shoo in for 60 to 70 points playing on the Habs first line and power play which would allow Brendan Gallagher to be even more effective not always having to play 1st line minutes.

He would make a lethal tandem with young centre Alex Galchenyuk, and plays a very entertaining brand of hockey that sells beer and revs up fans!

Radulov also is a play off performer notching 14 points in 18 NHL games with Nashville, as well at all of the other levels and leagues he’s played in.   He shoots enough to make things interesting.

While there are some interesting Free Agents out there this season the about to be 30 year old Radulov is just what the doctor ordered short of a large centre who pots 70 points per season with some grit.

Alex is slated to be a Free Agent and Montreal would be foolish to at least not explore bringing him onto a roster that already features fellow Russians, Andrei Markov and Alexei Emelin.

What do you think Hab fans?  Do you want to see Radulov in the bleu, blanc, et rouges?
