ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – a 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 22nd, 2016 and charged with robbery. It is alleged on April 21st, 2016 the youth took a quantity of cash from a 16-year-old know to him and police were contacted to investigate. On April 22nd, 2016 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 22nd, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon, assault and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on April 22nd, 2016 the woman threatened her boyfriend with a knife, punched him and damaged a television. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 23rd, 2016 and charged with two counts of assault, possession of marijuana and breach of probation for being in possession of marijuana and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during arguments on April 23rd, 2016 the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Travis Renaud, 39 of Alexandria was arrested on April 24th, 2016 on the strength of an OPP warrant and also charged with personation. It is alleged the man identified himself as someone else during a traffic stop on April 24th, 2016. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 2nd, 2016.

OVERCOME RESISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 21st, 2016 and charged with overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on April 21st, 2016 the man choked his 31-year-old girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 22nd, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on April 22nd, 2016 the man pushed his 24-year-old common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 17th, 2016. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT POLICE, RESIST ARREST, DISARMING POLICE OFFICER, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Devon MacDonald, 27 of Cornwall man was arrested on April 22nd, 2016 and charged with resist arrest, three counts of assault police, disarming a police officer and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged on April 22nd, 2016 police attended a Twelfth Street West address to investigate an unwanted person call. During their investigation the man pushed two officers and attempted to remove a taser from one of the officers’ duty belt. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Once at police headquarters the man grabbed a third officers’ wrist. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
