Hot Weekend of Sexual Assault & Threats in Cornwall Ontario MAY 30, 2016

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUALL INTERFERENCE, INVITATION TO SEXUAL TOUCHING

 

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Langlois, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on May 25th, 2016 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. It is alleged on May 5th, 2016 the man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old youth known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On May 25th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 30th, 2016.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 25th, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an argument on May 25th, 2016 the youth threatened a 22-year-old man known to him with a knife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DISTRIBUTION OF INTIMATE PICTURES, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Adam Clermont, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2016 and charged with distribution of intimate images and breach of undertaking for using an electronic device capable of accessing the internet and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of April, 2016 the man distributed intimate pictures through the internet and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

 

MISCHIEF, THREATS, ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

 

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Ottawa man was arrested on May 26th, 2016 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, threats and mischief. It is alleged during an argument on May 26th, 2016 the man damaged some of his mother’s property, assaulted her with a baton and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

SEXUAL ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 27th, 2016 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on May 25th, 2016 the youth sexually assaulted a 16-year-old youth known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Justin Rainey, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 27th, 2016 and charged with breach of undertaking for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 27th, 2016 the man was spotted out past curfew by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 30th, 2016.

 

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

 

Cornwall, ON- Adam Caldwell, 35 of Akwesasne was arrested on May 28th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on May 28th, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he entered the port of entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

 

THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27th, 2016 and charged with four counts of threats. It is alleged during the month of May, 2016 the man threatened to harm his ex-girlfriend and two of her friends. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

THEFT, FRAUD, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 28th, 2016 and charged with theft, fraud and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of April, 2016 the youth took his mother’s debit card without her permission and withdrew money from her account. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Anthony Marini, 25 and Ryan Royer, 23 both of Cornwall were arrested on May  30th, 2016 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation for being in possession of a controlled substance and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during a traffic stop in the early morning hours of May 30th, 2016 a quantity of methamphetamine was located. Both men were taken into custody and charged accordingly. Royer was held for a bail hearing while Marini was released to appear in court on July 14th, 2016.
