Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for AUG 8, 2016 #CCPS

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Shane Bertrand, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on August 5th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 30th, 2016 for breach charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 5th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

 

Cornwall, ON – Daniel O’Brien, 28 of Alexandria was arrested on August 5th, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when he was stopped at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 16th, 2016.

 

WEAPONS DANGEROUS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 5th, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and threats. It is alleged while at a local park on August 4th, 2016 the youth threatened another youth with a knife and police were contacted to investigate. On August 5th, 2016 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 5th, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on August 4th, 2016 the man pushed his 26-year-old girlfriend against the wall and police were contacted to investigate. On August 5th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Jessyca Coleman, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on August 5th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her probation order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 5th, 2016 the woman was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000

 

Cornwall, ON – Cody MacDonald, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 6th, 2016 the man entered a store at the Cornwall Square and selected clothing making no attempt to pay for the clothing as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

DISTRIBUTE INTIMATE PHOTOS, THREATS, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Alexandria man was arrested on August 7th, 2016 and charged with distribution of intimate images, threats, criminal harassment and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man repeatedly communicated with a 40-year-old woman despite having been told by her not to. He also sent intimate photos of her to another person and threatened to kill a man known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF BREAK IN TOOLS, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Tessier, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on August 7th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000, possession of break in tools, and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 7th, 2016 the man attended a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of break in tools and a stolen bicycle. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing
