LANARK COUNTY OPP INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE 

 (TOWN OF PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s assistance with an ongoing homicide investigation that occurred on August 7, 2016 at around 4:12 a.m. at the Last Duel Park Campground in the Town of Perth.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who was walking or riding a bicycle, or who may have witnessed someone walking or riding a bicycle in the area of the Town of Perth’s downtown core, east or south of the downtown core, or in the outlying area of Last Duel Park between approximately 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on August 7, 2016.  A map has been attached for your reference that indicates the area of interest.

The Lanark County OPP Crime Unit, supported by the East Region Forensic Identification Services Unit (FIS), and Regional Support Team (RST), under the supervision of Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), continue to work on this investigation that resulted in the death of 45 year old James “Jake” Laverdure, of Lanark County.
