Taking Cigarettes & Assault Lead to Charges in Cornwall Ontario – AUG 31, 2016

ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE, THEFT, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 30th, 2016 and charged with assault, overcome resistance (choking), theft, criminal harassment and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on August 30th, 2016 the man bit, punched and choked his 29-year-old girlfriend then took her cigarettes. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation it was also learned that the man repeatedly contacted his girlfriend despite having been told by her not to. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
