Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for SEPT 1, 2016 #CCPS

TRESPASS BY NIGHT, THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 31st, 2016 and charged with trespass by night, possession of stolen property, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours of August 31st, 2016 the youth was spotted going through parked cars in the area of Alguire Street. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of stolen property. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Millington, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on August 31st, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on January 19th, 2016 for breach charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 31st, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was in custody on unrelated charges. The warrant was executed and the man remained in custody for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON

 

Cornwall, ON – Brendin Martin, 18 and Matthew Martin, 18 both of Cornwall were arrested in the early morning hours of September 1st, 2016. It is alleged in the early morning hours of September 1st, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service spoke with the males in relation to a traffic offence and found Brendin Martin to be breaching his curfew. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of brass knuckles and a quantity of marijuana despite a recognizance prohibiting possession of both. Matthew Martin was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and breaching an undertaking for failing to keep the peace. Both were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
