Busy Labor Day Police Blotter for Cornwall Ontario SEPT 6, 2016

THEFT, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Walker, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on September 2nd, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 22nd, 2016 the man entered a store at the Cornwall Square and removed property making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and fled the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 2nd, 2016 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 6th, 2016.

 

ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 2nd, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged on September 2nd, 2016 the man followed his ex-girlfriend and spat in her face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Not long after the incident the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 18th, 2016. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Michelle Richer, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on September 2nd, 2016 and charged with theft under$5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 6th, 2016 the woman removed property from a Louisa Street address and police were contacted to investigate. On September 2nd, 2016 the woman was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

 

 BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – Sylvain Legault, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on September 2nd, 2016 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to reside at an approved address and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to keep his place of residency at the approved address and police were contacted to investigate. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000

 

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 3rd, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on September 2nd, 2016 the man removed property from his mother’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. On September 3rd, 2016 the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

 

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 3rd, 2016 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument on September 3rd, 2016 the woman threw some items at her ex-boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

THREATS, ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 4th, 2016 and charged with threats and assault. It is alleged on September 4th, 2016 the youth threatened to harm his previous vice-principal and attempted to fight two men known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was taking into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 5th, 2016 and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. It is alleged in March of 2016 the 16-year-old youth had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl and police were contacted to investigate. On September 5th, 2016 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Joseph D’Aoust, 28 of Monkland was arrested on September 5th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man was wanted by police for driving offences and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The man was located by police on September 5th, 2016, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 4th, 2016.

 

 

REFUSAL, ASSAULT, BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – Kenento Boots, 62 of Akwesasne was arrested on September 5th, 2016 and charged with refusing to provide a sample of his breathe, assault and breach of undertaking for operating a motor vehicle after having consumed alcohol and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 5th, 2016 the man was found to be in breach of his conditions while at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation it was learned the man had kicked a CBSA Officer in the leg and refused to provide a sample of his breath. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 13th, 2016.

 

THREATS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

 

Cornwall, ON – Tyson Dufresne, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on September 5th, 2016 and charged with threats and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on September 5th, 2016 the man threatened a 20-year-old woman known to him all the while brandishing a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 11th, 2016.

IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

 

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Carr, 28 of Kingston was arrested on September 2nd, 2016 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal. It is alleged in the early morning hours of September 2nd, 2016 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Osborn Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop and refused to provide a sample of his breath. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
