Conservative MP Guy Lauzon issued a new mailer. The purpose of a mailer generally is to communicate with voters in the riding. It is done at tax payer’s expense and not of the Conservative Party.
The latest mailer, which is a whopping 11×17 inches includes a whopping four pages in English and French, nearly as thick as this weeks Seaway News; is solely a partisan attack including a boxed quote from interim leader Rona Ambrose.
While there’s nothing wrong with partisan politics shouldn’t it come out of a party’s own coffers or that of the politician?
There literally isn’t a single word about any issue other than Mr. Lauzon’s party’s protest over election reform; which while in important issue, surely isn’t meant to be the subject of a MP mailer like this?
The mailer, printed on white brite newsprint (more expensive than standard newsprint) in blue & white, essentially is a Conservative Party call to action asking voters to mail in a response.
Is it time to stop the abuse of these sorts of mailings?
What do you think dear CFN viewers? Is it time to end partisan abuse of this nature?
