Cornwall Woman Charged by OPP With Threats to Ex Girl Friend SEPT 26, 2016

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Dundas) – On September 25, 2016 at approximately 7:24am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) intercepted a stopped vehicle on County Road 31, South Dundas Township. Damage to the vehicle led officers to the vehicle being involved in a single vehicle collision prior on County Road 18, South Dundas Township. The male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Jordan SYPES (22) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 11, 2016.
DOMESTIC-THREATS

(North Stormont) – On September 25, 2016 at approximately 10:47am, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on County Road 43, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a female had uttered threats to her ex-girlfriend/partner and another female.

The 25-year-old from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Utter Threats (2 counts)

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 18, 2016. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
STOLEN VEHICLE

(South Dundas) – On September 24, 2016 at approximately 4:41pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen pick-up truck from a commercial property (Morrisburg Building Centre) on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. The vehicle had been taken within the past 30 minutes. It is described as a white 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck with no tailgate. Further details indicate that the suspect attended a gas station nearby (McEwen’s) and pumped a quantity of fuel then left without paying.

THEFT OF BOAT

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (September 24-25, 2016) a boat was stolen from a property on Loyalist Road, South Glengarry Township. The unit is described as a 2016 Princecraft Scamper 16’ aluminum fishing boat with a Mercury outboard motor.

An investigation continues.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Stormont) – Over the past weekend, Highway Safety Division (HSD) officers conducting speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Stormont Township intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In both stops, the vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– September 24, 2016 – 5:16pm; vehicle stopped travelling 169km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (50) from St-Sauveur, Quebec charged accordingly.

– September 24, 2016 – 5:18pm; vehicle stopped travelling 159km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (22) from Beaconsfield, Quebec charged accordingly.
