Cornwall Man Charged After Engaging 11 Year Old #CCPS Oct 6, 2016

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT FOR ENGAGING IN THREATENING CONDUCT

 

            Cornwall, ON – Kyle Barnhart, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on October 5th, 2016 and charged with criminal harassment for engaging in threatening conduct. It is alleged on October 2nd, 2016 while at the library the man approached and requested that an eleven-year-old girl accompany him to his house. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 5th, 2016 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 5th, 2016 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by house rules. It is alleged in the early morning hours of October 5th, 2016 the youth breached her house rules by having someone sleep over despite house rules and police were contacted to investigate. The youth who had fled the residence prior to police arrival later attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000, MISCHIEF, RESIST ARREST

 

            Cornwall, ON – Karlee Thompson, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000, mischief and resist arrest. It is alleged in the early morning hours of October 6th, 2016 the woman damaged the interior of a vehicle parked on York Street and removed property from the vehicle. Police were contacted and located the woman a short distance away. She was taken into custody after a brief struggle, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 8th, 2016.
