SD&G #OPP Round Up for NOVEMBER 16, 2016

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(North Dundas) – On November 15, 2016 at approximately 8:16pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Joseph Street, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted (no injuries). Damage was also caused to property.

The 23-year-old male from North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal
– Mischief – Domestic

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 29, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(North Glengarry) – On November 16, 2016 at approximately 2:51am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted. The accused also caused damage within the home and brandished a knife (no injuries). He fled the area on foot.

The 18-year-old male from North Glengarry Township was arrested in Alexandria at approximately 1:43pm and is charged with;

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5000
– Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
– Fail to Comply with Sentence – Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) = (3 counts from previous incidents as a youth)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 13, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim and as per provisions of the YCJA.
BREAK-IN AND THREATS

(North Dundas) – On November 15, 2016 at approximately 10:25pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Thompson Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male and female entered the home and confronted the occupants displaying a firearm. The victims were threatened but not injured. The suspects fled the scene and were located and arrested in the City of Ottawa.

A 32-year-old male from Ottawa, Ontario is charged with;

– Break, Enter into a Dwelling – Commit Indictable Offence
– Utter Threats
– Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
– Assault with a Weapon
– Pointing a Firearm
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
– Carry Concealed Weapon (knife)
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (3 counts)

A 32-year-old female from Ottawa, Ontario is charged with;

– Break, Enter into a Dwelling – Commit Indictable Offence
– Utter Threats
– Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
– Assault with a Weapon
– Pointing a Firearm
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. The names are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims (known to each other).

THEFT

(North Dundas) – Between November 11-15, 2016 – a commercial property (gravel pit) was entered and two (2) batteries and fuel from a front end loader were stolen.

An investigation continues.
