LEEDS COUNTY O.P.P ARREST KINGSTON MAN AFTER FAIL TO STOP

 

(LANSDOWNE, ON) – On the 23rd of December 2016 at around 3:45 a.m. Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 in the Township of Front of Leeds and Lansdowne.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in question on Hwy 401 near Lansdowne and a vehicle stop was initiated. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and fled from officers.

The suspect vehicle continued to evade police, and proceeded south onto Hwy 137 and failed to stop at the US Port of Entry on Hill Island.  The suspect vehicle came to a stop after colliding with a cement barricade.

The driver fled from the collision on foot and was apprehended a short time later by U.S Customs and U.S. Border Protection Officers.

David Joseph MacDONALD, 40 yrs old of the Kingston area faces several charges, including Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police, Breach of Recognizance X3 contrary to the Criminal Code, as well as, Driving while under Suspension, Using Plates Not Authorized For Vehicle and No Insurance under the Highway Traffic Act.

He was held for a bail hearing on the 23rd of December 2016 at Brockville Ontario Court.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
