Choking in Cornwall Ontario POLICE BLOTTER Dec 29, 2016

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 27th, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during arguments on December 15th, 2016 and December 27th, 2016 the man pushed his common-law wife on several occasions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 27th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Kanata man was arrested on December 27th, 2016 and charged with threats and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on December 27th, 2016 the man threatened to kill his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Torran Mitchell-Terrance, 23 of Cornwall Island was arrested on December 28th, 2016 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on September 21st, 2016 the man failed to stop at the Port of Entry damaging the stop arms and police were contacted to investigate. On December 28th, 2016 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was in custody on unrelated charges. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FRAUD

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Cox, 34 of Timmins was arrested on December 28th, 2016 and charged with fraud under $5000 x10. It is alleged throughout 2016 the man defrauded his employer on several occasions by crediting his own bank card. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 28th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 29th, 2016 and charged with breach of recognizance for being out past curfew and breach of probation for communicating with his girlfriend, being within 100meters of her and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 29th, 2016 the man was found to be breaching his conditions when he was located at his girlfriend’s residence after his curfew. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from domestic incidents and would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on December 29th, 2016 and charged with assault x2 and overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on December 29th, 2016 the man pushed his girlfriend then pushed and choked a friend when she attempted to intervene. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
