Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Cornwall – Lancaster
  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

The threat of some freezing rain beginning Monday night into Tuesday.

Yet another Colorado low pressure system is forecast to develop over the next couple of days, and begin trekking towards the Great Lakes. As moisture from the Gulf of Mexico is drawn northwards with the advancing low, some wintery precipitation is expected to develop later Monday night. It may begin as snow or ice pellets but will likely change to some freezing rain overnight Monday night and continue into Tuesday morning.

Untreated roads may become quite icy and treacherous, especially for the Tuesday morning commute. A freezing rain warning will likely be issued as the event approaches.
