IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On December 28, 2016 at approximately 9:14pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 20, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a passenger vehicle had left the roadway and rolled over. No injuries resulted. Further investigation revealed that the lone adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Meghan OXLEY (26) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Fail or Refuse to Provide a Sample

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on January 11, 2017.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(South Stormont) – On December 28, 2016 at approximately 2:35pm, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a domestic situation in South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had repeatedly communicated electronically with his ex-spouse, therefore in contravention of a condition imposed from a previous incident.

The 32-year-old male from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Harassing Communications
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(South Stormont) – On January 1, 2017 at approximately 12:49am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Marydale Avenue, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male forcibly entered the residence of his ex-spouse and assaulted her and another male in the home. Damage was caused upon entry.

The 43-year-old male from Brossard, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal
– Assault
– Mischief – Domestic

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
DRUGS SEIZED

(North Glengarry) – On January 2, 2017 at approximately 7:42pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) checks on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of quantities of suspected marihuana and cannabis resin (hash). Officers also seized a kit used to pick/punch locks.

The male driver, Jordan MACDONALD (26) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of Break-In Tools
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (4 counts)
– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

A female passenger, Amy MITCHELL (22) of Cornwall, Ontario was also arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of Break-In Tools

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 8, 2017.
RECOVERED STOLEN PROPERTY

(South Dundas) – On December 30, 2016 at approximately 3:34pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 401, South Dundas Township. As officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and fled. The vehicle was located abandoned at the Chrysler Marina (off of County Road 2) after driving through closed gates. Officers located and arrested two (2) adult males on foot nearby. Further

information revealed that the vehicle (2010 Ford pick-up) had been reported stolen from a property in Prince Edward Township on December 21, 2016 and the plates from a vehicle in Quinte West.

The driver, Eric VINING (31) of Belleville, Ontario is charged with;

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (2 counts)
– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
– Possess – Credit Card Data (located upon arrest belonging to 2 other individuals)
– Mischief Under $5000 (damage to gate)
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The male passenger, Patrick GILBERT (23) of Montreal, Quebec is charged with;

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

Both were held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
ASSAULTS/THREATS

(North Dundas) – On December 28, 2016 at approximately 11:04pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Mill Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between two (2) adult females resulted in one assaulting and threatening the other. Threats to damage property were also uttered. While in custody at the police detachment, the accused assaulted an officer.

An 18-year-old from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault
– Assault Peace Officer
– Utter Threats (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Sentence (6 counts – Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)

She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim and as per provisions of the YCJA.
