Long Sault Man Charged With Choking CORNWALL ON Police Blotter JAN 9, 2017

ASSAULT, THREATS, OVERCOME RESISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on January 6th, 2017 and charged with assault, threats and overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on January 4th, 2017 the man grabbed his wife by the arms, threatened her and choked her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 6th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Kacey Printup, 26 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 8th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant for dangerous driving and flight from police. She was also charged with possession of cocaine and oxycodone. It is alleged on December 30th, 2016 the woman failed to stop for police and drove in a dangerous manner. An investigation ensued and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On January 8th, 2017 the woman was stopped at the Port of Entry and police were contacted. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and found to be in possession of cocaine and oxycodone. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brandon Tessier, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on January 8th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend for prints on September 12th, 2016 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 8th, 2017 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Ottawa as the Ottawa Police Service had the man in custody on Cornwall’s warrant. He was transported to Cornwall and held for a bail hearing.

ROBBERY, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, WEAPONS DANGEROUS, POINTING A FIREARM, BREACH, DISGUISE WITH INTENT

Cornwall, ON – Joey Laurin, 20 and Daniel Legue, 22 both of Cornwall were arrested and charged as follows:

Joey Laurin

  • Robbery
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Breach of recognizance for being in possession of a weapon

Daniel Legue

  • Robbery
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Disguise with intent
  • Breach of two probation orders

It is alleged on January 4th, 2017 the two men demanded money and personal property from a man known to them all the while brandishing a bat, and a handgun. During this time Legue had covered his face with mask. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation both men were located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. At the time of his arrest Legue was in possession of a knife and was charged accordingly.
