Woman Beats Husband With Bat & Key Throwing in Cornwall Ontario – JAN 18, 2017

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on January 16th, 2017 and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument on January 14th, 2017 the woman pushed and struck her common-law husband with a bat. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 16th, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 16th, 2017 and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an argument on January 16th, 2017 the man pushed his common-law wife and threw a set of keys at her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Devon MacDonald, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on January 16th, 2017 and charged with possession of marijuana and breach of recognizance for being in possession of weapons. It is alleged on January 16th, 2017 a warrant was executed at his residence and several knives, a pellet gun and marijuana was located. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 16th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on December 9th, 2016 the man removed property from his ex-girlfriend’s residence without her permission and police were contacted to investigate. On January 16th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Shannon Pollard, 38 and James Savidge, 27 both of Cornwall were arrested on January 17th, 2017 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on January 17th, 2017 they attempted to enter a Belmont Street residence by way of breaking a window when they were scared off by the homewowner. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 23rd, 2017.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Sherri Ferguson, 51 of Cornwall was arrested on January 17th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her recognizance and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 17th, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken onto custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Akwesasne was arrested on January 17th, 2017 and charged with threats to property, threats to life, assault and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during arguments in the month of January, 2017 the man threatened to kill his girlfriend and burn her car. It is also alleged the man struck his girlfriend several times during an argument. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 17th, 2017 the man was stopped at the port of entry and police were contacted. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF BREAK IN TOOLS, DISGUISE WITH INTENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Francis Carver, 28, Mitchell Johnston, 20, Scott Julien, 28 and Joel Sarault, 18 all of Cornwall were arrested on January 17th, 2017 and charged as follows:

It is alleged on January 17th, 2017 the four men attempted to gain entry into a Belmont Street address with a bar while three of the males concealed their identity. The males were scared off by a witness and police were contacted to investigate. The males were located a short distance away, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
