SD&G #OPP Round Up for FEBRUARY 28, 2017

IMPAIRED/DISQUALIFIED DRIVER

(North Dundas) – On February 28, 2017 at approximately 12:30am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle for speeding on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. A check of the adult male driver revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol. Further information indicated that his driving privileges were disqualified stemming from previous incidents.

Christopher BEATTIE (32) of North Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired

– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

– Drive While Disqualified (2 counts)

– Driving While Suspended (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on April 4, 2017.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(North Glengarry) – On February 27, 2017 at approximately 8:52am, a Highway Safety Division (HSD) OPP officer conducting speed measuring enforcement on County Road 20, North Glengarry Township intercepted a vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds (132km/h in a posted 80km/h zone). The 30-year-old female driver from North Glengarry Township was charged. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit was seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
