Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for MONDAY March 6, 2017

CAUSE DISTURBANCE, ASSAULT POLICE, RESIST ARREST, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Michael Mantel, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on March 3rd, 2017 and charged with cause disturbance, assault police, resist arrest and mischief. It is alleged on March 3rd, 2017 the man attended police headquarters and caused a disturbance. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle and later damaged property. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 5th, 2017 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on March 5th, 2017 the youth bit his father. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Sasha MacMillan, 38 of Maxville was arrested on March 5th, 2017 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 5th, 2017 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Marlborough Street and Nick Kaneb Drive. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 14th, 2017.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 5th, 2017 and charged with threats. It is alleged during arguments in February and March, 2017 the man threatened to kill his common-law wife and burn down the house. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
