Punching at Cornwall Square POLICE BLOTTER for MARCH 24, 2017

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 22nd, 2017 and charged with assault and breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while at the Cornwall Square on February 20th, 2017 the youth punched another youth known to him in the head and police were contacted to investigate. On March 22nd, 2017 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

TRANSPORTATION FRAUD, THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Joseph Mowbray of Cornwall was arrested on March 22nd, 2017 and charged with transportation fraud, theft under $5000, possession of stolen property and breach of probation for failing to notify a change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 22nd, 2017 the man did not pay for his taxi fare and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody and found to be in possession of stolen clothing. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 22nd, 2017 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument with her common-law-spouse on March 22nd, 2017 she pulled her hair and grabbed her by the throat and face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 21st, 2017 and charged with breach of undertaking for communicating with his ex-common-law wife and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during March, 2017 the man communicated with his ex-common-law wife by way of social media and police were contacted to investigate. On March 21st, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
