Leafs & Sens Win – Nashville 2-0 vs Chicago GAME 2 Thoughts by Jamie Gilcig APRIL 16, 2017

Cornwall Ontario – The Habs evened their series Friday night.   This year there seems to be more desperation across the board to win with multiple games of 100 total hits.  It’s good hockey; sometimes great.  Shea Weber, even though he took a lame fighting penalty, was the monster for Montreal.  Just the beating alone he took from the NY forecheck was impressive, but he dished it out too and was a rock for les boys in their OT win.

Tomas Plekanec went from goat to hero after scoring the goal that sent the game to OT.

Alex Radulov was the hero on the night with the OT winner and two assists.

Dion Phaneuf was the hero for the Ottawa Sens in OT as they evened their series.  Bobby Ryan picked up another point, and so far Clarke MacArthur hasn’t had his bell rung again.   Phaneuf had 3 points on the night and 3 hits.

It took double overtime, but the Leafs evened their series with Washington.   Matt Martin notched 2 assists and 10 hits, but it was Morgan Rielly with nearly 40 minutes of ice time and a double In the Game ™ score who was the hero of the game for the Leafs.   Rookie Kasperi Kapanen potted two goals in the win.

Nashville is getting goaltending from Pekke Rinne as Nashville has the Hawks on the ropes 2 games to zero in their series as do the Ducks over the Flames.  Calgary just can’t seem to compete with the Ducks juggernaut.

Nashville, Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and St. Louis are up 2-0 in their series.
