FROST WARNING for CORNWALL ONTARIO Area for MAY 9, 2017

CORNWALL ONTARIO – No, we’re safe from our former disgraced City Councilor Robert Brock Frost returning to local politics.

But there is a frost warning for the area as temps may fall below zero overnight in the River City before Spring actually flirts with us until the weekend when it’s expected to rain, again.

Statements

3:49 PM EDT Tuesday 09 May 2017
Frost advisory in effect for:

  • Cornwall – Lancaster
  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

Frost may damage frost-sensitive fruit trees and vegetable plants.

Patchy frost is likely in many areas tonight.

Temperatures are expected to dip to near the zero degree mark under partly cloudy skies overnight though Wednesday morning.

Frost may be possible again in some areas Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
