Cornwall Police Charge ROBERT MYERS for St. Felix St. Fire MAY 19, 2017

 

THEFT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jody Burgess, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on May 18th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 18th, 2017 the man removed a quantity of meat and cheese from a Ninth Street store making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by staff members and police were contacted to investigate. Police located the man who had fled prior to their arrival. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 15th, 2017.

MISCHIEF, ARSON, POSSESSION OF INCENDIARY MATERIAL, OCCUPANT INJURING BUILDING

Cornwall, ON – Robert Myers, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on May 18th, 2017 and charged with the following:

  • Mischief
  • Arson- disregard for human life
  • Arson –by negligence
  • Arson
  • Possession of incendiary material
  • Occupant injuring building

It is alleged the man was responsible for a fire that occurred on May 17th, 2017 that damage three St.Felix Street residences. On May 18th, 2017 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 15th, 2017.

  1. Whoever this man is should be put away in a mental institution for the rest of his life. The man in Times Square was in the military and heard voices – schizophrenia and should be put away as well. There are plenty walking around in this condition.

  2. Ummmmm……what about the kittens that died due to the fire. He should also have been charged for that as well!!!

  3. Dawn I sure do agree with you and so many are let off way too easy. This was a nut case to have done such a thing and he should be put away and never let loose.
