THUNDER BAY RESIDENT CHARGED FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION

 

(ORILLIA, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Thunder Bay resident following an investigation relating to allegations of criminal wrongdoing.

 

In January 2017, the OPP received a request from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) O-Division to conduct an external, independent and thorough investigation. The investigation was referred to a qualified Major Case Manager with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

 

Following a five-month investigation, the OPP have charged Jean Paul (J.P.) LEVESQUE, aged 53 years of Thunder Bay, with Breach of Trust (Sec. 122) and Obstructing Justice (Sec.139) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

 

The accused is expected to appear on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay.

 

The OPP will not comment further in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the ongoing court processes.
