Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for Monday MAY 29, 2017

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Coleman, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2017 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 12th, 2017 while at a local store on Brookdale Avenue the woman removed several bottles of perfume making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 26th, 2017 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 29th, 2017.

Cornwall, ON – Jason Larose, 39 and Nicole Swift, 26 both of Cornwall were arrested on May 26th, 2017. Larose was charged with theft under $5000, property obtained by crime and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace while Swift was charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on May 26th, 2017 the two entered a Brookdale Avenue store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and located Larose and Swift a short distance away. They were taken into custody and Larose was found to be in possession of someone else’s debit card. They were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 27th, 2017 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and threats. It is alleged during an argument on May 27th, 2017 the man pushed his girlfriend, hit her head against a railing and threatened to push her down the stairs. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Calvin Hope, 50 of Cornwall was arrested on May 28th, 2017 on the strength of a committal warrant and charged with breach of recognizance for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 28th, 2017 police attended the area of Eleventh Street for a disturbance call and located Hope who was wanted on a committal warrant and in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 28th, 2017 and charged with assault and breach of two youth probation orders and a recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on May 28th, 2017 the woman struck her boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 28th, 2017 and charged with assault cause bodily harm and breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on May 28th, 2017 the woman struck her boyfriend in the head with a bong causing him to seek medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

 

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Sarfaraz Multani, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 29th, 2017 and charged with breach of recognizance for being outside his residence without his surety or an approved adult. It is alleged on May 29th, 2017 the man was found to be in breach of his conditions during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
