SD&G #OPP Sexual Assault & Meth Charges for S Glengarry Man ROUND UP June 5, 2017

IMPAIRED DRIVERS

(South Glengarry) – On June 3, 2017 at approximately 10:54pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks on Dundas Street, South Glengarry Township. A check of an adult male driver revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Marc MARTIN (25) of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol

– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligram of Alcohol in Blood

– Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (Liquor Licence Act)

– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 12, 2017.

(North Dundas) – On June 4, 2017 at approximately 12:28am, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Robert HEFFERNAN (40) of Hastings, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol

– Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligram of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 27, 2017.

OBSTRUCT PEACE OFFICER

(South Stormont) – On June 2, 2017 at approximately 9:17am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Dickinson Drive, South Stormont Township. Upon identification of the adult male driver, he provided officers with conflicting information pertaining to the incident. Further information revealed that his driving permit was disqualified and suspended stemming from previous occurrences.

Brendan GALLIVAN (22) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Obstruct Peace Officer

– Driving While Disqualified

– Driving While Under Suspension (HTA)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 4, 2017.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Glengarry) – On June 2, 2017 – SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of domestic related incidents at a residence on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated current and historical (2014-current) events where an adult male had assaulted, sexually assaulted and threatened his common-law spouse. Upon his arrest, officers seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.

The 30-year-old male from South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Sexual Assault (2 counts)

– Assault – Spousal (5 counts)

– Utter Threats

– Voyeurism (3 counts) – record victim without her knowledge

– Publication of an Intimate Image Without Consent

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO STOP

(South Dundas) – On June 2, 2017 at approximately 9:58am, SD&G OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks on County Road 4, South Dundas Township. A vehicle approaching the area purposely avoided the check stop and fled. The vehicle was observed pulling over on Merkley Road and the adult male driver fled on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away.

Kyle SUMMERS (34) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Stop for Police (Highway Traffic Act)

– Drive Motor Vehicle – No Currently Validated Plate

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 4, 2017.

BREAK-INS/THEFTS

(North Dundas) – Overnight (June 3-4, 2017) – an attempt entry was made at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) location on Queen Street in the Village of Chesterville, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a storefront window was broken with a piece of concrete block. No entry was gained or property removed. Possible two (2) males and one female were involved.

(North Glengarry) – Overnight (June 3-4, 2017) – a red 2017 Can-Am 450 Outlander All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was stolen from a detached garage at a residence on Robert Street in the Village of Maxville, North Glengarry Township.

(North Dundas) – Overnight (June 3-4, 2017) – a quantity of assorted hand/power tools and alcohol were stolen from a detached garage at a residence on Thompson Road, North Dundas Township.

Investigations continue in all of the above incidents.
