Ottawa Woman Charged for Mischief and Disturbing Religious Worship

 

(Ottawa) — On June 9, 2017, a 52 year-old Ottawa woman was charged with breach of a judicial release and disturbing a religious worship. This was in relation to mischief and a causing a disturbance charges stemming from an April 30, 2017, incident.

On April 30, 2017, it is alleged that Katherine SPERO entered a place of worship on the 200 block of Kent Street, Ottawa, where she began to scream and caused damages to a religious statue.

On June 9, 2017, SPERO was charged for another mischief incident that occurred at the same location on January 30, 2017. Once again, it is alleged that Katherine SPERO broke parts of statues representing religious figures.

SPERO attended show cause court on June 10, 2017. Her next court appearance is June 22, 2017.
