SD&G #OPP Rowdy Weekend Round UP & Tractor Theft – JUNE 12, 2017

ASSAULT

(South Glengarry) – On June 9, 2017 at approximately 4:35pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of an assault incident at a property on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had assaulted another.

Pierre CHICOINE (69) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 12, 2017.

CAUSE DISTURBANCE

(South Dundas) – On June 11, 2017 at approximately 12:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a property on Lakeshore Drive, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male was under the influence of alcohol and being belligerent towards others and officers present. To avoid arrest, the suspect fled into the St-Lawrence River but was apprehended by police a short time later.

Robert HOGG (28) of Chatham, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Causing a Disturbance (yelling/swearing)

– Being Intoxicated in a Public Place (Liquor Licence Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 1, 2017.

DANGEROUS OPERATION

(South Dundas) – On June 11, 2017 at approximately 11:54am, an SD&G OPP officer conducting speed enforcement on Highway 401, South Dundas intercepted a vehicle travelling at high speeds. The adult male driver proceeded to access a u-turn and in doing so entered the ditch causing damage to the vehicle and fled in the opposite direction in a dangerous manner. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away and the driver arrested without incident.

Wendong HE (23) of Toronto, Ontario is charged with;

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

– Fail to Remain at Scene of Collision (Highway Traffic Act – HTA)

– Fail to Stop for Police (HTA)

– Race a Motor Vehicle – Stunt

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 1, 2017.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Stormont) – On June 10, 2017 – an SD&G OPP officer conducting speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Stormont Township intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– June 10, 2017 – 7:33am (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 162km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (40) from Scarborough, Ontario charged accordingly.

– June 10, 2017 – 9:59am (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 153km/h (100km/h zone). Female driver (25) from Montreal, Quebec charged accordingly.

– June 10, 2017 – 12:55pm (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (63) from Milton, Ontario charged accordingly.

– June 10, 2017 – 2:45pm (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 162km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (32) from York, Ontario charged accordingly.

THEFT OF LAWN TRACTOR

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (June 9-10, 2017) – a yellow 2009 New Holland Zero-Turn lawn tractor with a 20hp engine and 52″ deck was taken from a residence on Kraft Road, South Glengarry Township.

An investigation continues.

FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION

(North Dundas) – On June 11, 2017 at approximately 4:51am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report a single motor vehicle collision on Thompson Road, North Dundas Township (Chesterville). Investigation indicated that a suspected white Pontiac G6 collided with a hydro pole and fled the scene.

An investigation continues.
