Tire Slashing in Cornwall Ontario #CCPS June 23, 2017

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on June 22nd, 2017 and charged with mischief. It is alleged on June 22nd, 2017 the woman slashed her ex-boyfriend’s tires and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 27th, 2017. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CANADA DAY TRAFFIC PLAN

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service would like to advise the residents of our community of the upcoming traffic detours as a result of the Canada Day celebrations ( July 1st, 2017). These detours are necessary in order to ensure the safety of the pedestrians attending and leaving the event. These detours will reduce the interaction between vehicles and pedestrians and therefore reduce the risk or injuries to anyone. Several police officers will assist in redirecting traffic in order to improve the flow of traffic at the end of the event.

The following detours will be implemented at 9:45 p.m.;

Eastbound traffic on Water Street West will be re-directed northbound on York Street.Southbound traffic on Augustus Street will be re-directed westbound on Water Street West.Southbound traffic on Pitt Street will re-directed westbound on Water Street.Northbound traffic from the Civic Complex will be able to continue north or turn right and go east. No left turn onto Water Street East.Southbound traffic from the Cornwall Square will not be permitted.Westbound traffic on Water Street East will be re-directed north on Sydney Street.Westbound traffic on Water Street East will be re-directed northbound on Adolphus Street.

Please be reminded that parking restrictions will be enforced in order to ensure that emergency services have access to the site at all times in the event of an emergency. All vehicles found in contravention of the parking by-law, will be subject to fines and towing at the owner’s expense.

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Jordan Leaf, 20 of Akwesasne was arrested on June 21st, 2017 and charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and mischief. It is alleged in the early morning hours of June 21st, 2017 the man entered a Danis Street residence without permission and damaged a refrigerator. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 20th, 2017.
