Threatening to Burn Down the House x2 in Cornwall #CCPS June 26, 2017

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Wattie, age 36, of Cornwall, was arrested on June 23, 2017. It is alleged that on this date he attended the residence of an acquaintance and entered the premises without permission, assaulting one of the occupants in the process. He retrieved property from within the residence, and left the area. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Wattie was subsequently charged with Assault and being Unlawfully in a dwelling house. He was released to appear in court on July 27, 2017. There were no injuries as a result of the assault.

DOMESTIC THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 37 year old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24, 2017. It is alleged that on this date he attended a neighbour’s residence and engaged in a verbal argument which escalated to him threatening to burn down the residence. He then attended his estranged common-law wife’s residence and threatened to burn down her residence and kill everyone within it. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The man was charged with 2 counts of Uttering threats to destroy property and 1 count of Uttering threats to cause death. He was held for a Bail Hearing.
