Calls for Service

Kingston Police had 123 calls for service during the 24 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on July 13, 2017. Of these, 83 calls occurred in the city central area, 29 in the west end, 7 in the east end, and 1 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

  • 7 domestic calls
  • 1 sexual assault
  • 4 harassment calls
  • 8 undesirable calls
  • 2 drunk calls
  • 1 customer trouble call
  • 1 custody dispute call
  • 5 alarm calls
  • 4 noise complaints
  • 3 trouble with kids calls
  • 1 missing person call
  • 2 Mental Health Act calls
  • 5 medical assist calls
  • 12 assist citizen calls
  • 2 break and enter calls
  • 2 theft calls
  • 1 shoplifting call
  • 1 mischief call
  • 3 fraud calls
  • 4 motor vehicle collisions
  • 1 impaired driving call
  • 1 driving complaint
  • 10 suspicious activity calls
  • 1 trespass/prowler call
  • 1 drug call

There were 7 individuals arrested within the last 24 hours including 6 men and 1 woman, between 24 and 53 years of age, for the following: Drug possession, assault police officer, breach of probation, public intoxication, breach of the peace and arrest warrants.

Bingo Hall Arrest

A 29-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at a Kingston Bingo Hall on a Peterborough Warrant.

On July 13 Kingston Police received information that a wanted man was at a local bingo hall. At approximately 9:15 p.m. they entered the hall and spotted him at a slot machine. He was arrested on the warrant and was initially co-operative. He was searched before being put in the back of the police car and was in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine and heroin. The accused became hostile and aggressive and started spitting at the officers and hitting his head against the interior of the cruiser. His fit of rage continued while at Police Headquarters as he kicked over a garbage can, repeatedly punched himself in the face and hit his head on the wall. After being put in a cell, the accused began tampering with the sprinkler system. When an officer entered the cell to deal with the situation the accused spit in his face.

The accused was charged with two counts of drug possession, assaulting Police and two counts of breach of probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing.
