WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 56-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 24th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during arguments on December 7th, 2016 the man assaulted his common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On August 24th, 2017 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 19th, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CAUSE DISTURBANCE, OBSTRUCT/RESIST, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Stephane Deguire, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on August 26th, 2017 and charged with being intoxicated in a public place, cause disturbance, obstruct police and threats. It is alleged on August 26th, 2017 police attended the area of Second Street West for a man causing a disturbance. Once in the area they located the intoxicated man. He was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters. Once at police headquarters the man would not cooperate with police and resisted the booking process. He also threatened to harm police and their families. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF, BREACH OF CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 26th, 2017 and charged with mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is also alleged the man breached a conditional sentence order for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with his common-law wife on August 26th, 2017 the man damaged a window at his residence and police were contacted to investigate. The man was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 26th, 2017 and charged with assault, threats and breach of probation for communicating with his girlfriend, being within 100meters of her and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on August 26th, 2017 the man assaulted his girlfriend and threatened a witness who intervened. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Leger, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on August 26th, 2017 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during a disagreement on August 26th, 2017 the man struck another man known to him with a hammer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Marc Martin, 25 of Martintown was arrested on August 27th, 2017 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80 and breach of probation. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the early morning hours of August 27th, 2017 while in the area of Boundary Road. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old St. Andrews man was arrested on August 27th, 2017 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of recognizance for communicating with his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged the man communicated with his ex-girlfriend during the month of August, 2017 by way of Facebook messages despite being on conditions not to communicate with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 27th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
