#OPP Charge 15 Yr Old Brockville Punk for Dropping Beverage Onto Hwy 401

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) in Leeds County are continuing an investigation into a youth who dropped a beverage over an overpass.

On November 6, 2017 at 1:35 PM officers were advised of an incident that occurred on Highway 401 westbound at the Stewart Blvd overpass in Brockville. Investigation revealed that a youth had dropped a beverage over the overpass which struck a westbound transport which in turn damaged its moon roof.

Leeds OPP officers located a 15 year old Brockville youth and charged him with Mischief under $5000.00. His name will not be released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A future date has been set for the male to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Youth Division in Brockville to answer to his charge.

“To propel an item off of an overpass onto a vehicle travelling 100 km/hr can result in an absolute deadly and catastrophic outcome. This is a stark reminder that we need to impress upon all of our young people that actions have consequences.” said Inspector Mike Francis, Leeds County OPP Detachment Commander.
