Busy Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for JANUARY 9, 2018 #CCPS

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Michael Thompson, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on January 8th, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for communicating with certain persons and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 4th, 2018 the man had words with the two persons he has conditions not to speak with and police were contacted to investigate. On January 8th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Mitchell, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on January 8th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence, consuming unlawful drugs and being in possession of a weapon. It is alleged on December 31st, 2017 police attended a McConnell Avenue address for a disturbance and found the man in breach of his conditions for being outside his residence and having consumed unlawful drugs. On January 8th, 2018 the man was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a knife. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.



ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 8th, 2018 and charged with assault. He was also charged with breach of two probation orders for failing to keep the peace and breach of undertaking for leaving his residence and for failing to follow house rules. It is alleged on January 8th, 2018 the youth failed to follow house rules and assaulted an adult known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Jordan Parisien, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on January 9th, 2018 and charged with failing to provide a suitable sample of his breath as directed (refusal). It is alleged in the early morning hours of January 9th, 2018 the man failed to provide a proper sample of his breath upon demand after the truck he was driving got stuck in a snow bank. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Williamstown man was arrested on January 8th, 2018 and charged with breach of probation for communicating with his ex-common-law wife, being within 100 meters of her and for failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 8th, 2018 police attended a Fourth Street address for a breach complaint. Once on scene they located the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

There were 33 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).
