#OPP Charge Scarborough Woman w Assault & Firearm Near Brockville 012918

(LEEDS, ON.) –   Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing an investigation into multiple criminal charges after a traffic stop.

On January 28, 2018 at about 8:45 A.M. O.P.P officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 in Front of Yonge Township for Stunt Driving.  After the stop, and while her car was being towed, the driver became assaultive towards officers.

39 year old Angela HARTWICK of Scarborough was arrested and faces a charge of Assault Police. Subsequent investigation resulted in further charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Occupant of a Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm.



She was released from custody on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on February 23, 2018 to answer to her charges. She is also scheduled to answer to her Stunt Driving charge at Brockville Provincial Offences Court on February 28, 2018.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital in Brockville.

The investigation continues.
