Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for January 31, 2018 #CCPS

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Claude Rochon, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on January 29th, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to sign in with police. It is alleged the man failed to sign in on January 24th, 2018 and an investigation ensued. On January 29th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jesse Benedict, 34 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 29th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on December 20th, 2017 for a drive disqualified charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 29th, 2018 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant during a traffic stop and held for a bail hearing.

UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 30th, 2018 and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning hours of January 30th, 2018 the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 30th, 2018 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and being outside his residence with alcohol in his body. It is alleged in the early morning hours of January 30th, 2018 the intoxicated man assaulted his common-law wife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was located outside his residence, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Derek Thompson, 33 of Snye was arrested on January 30th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on July 21st, 2016 for failing to provide a sample of breath charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 30th, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the man from Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service as they had the man in custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. He was transported by police and held for a bail hearing.



ASSAULT, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Tate Jocko, 28 of Akwesasne was arrested on January 30th, 2018 and charged with threats, assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 28th, 2018 the man threatened staff at the Cornwall Community Hospital and police were contacted to investigate. On January 30th, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Nancy Hutt, 41 of Cornwall was arrested on January 30th, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged sometime in January, 2018 the woman took medication from someone she knows without his permission and police were contacted to investigate. On January 30th, 2018 the woman was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.
