10CM of Snow for the Cornwall Ontario Area – SCHOOL BUSES CANCELLED Wed Feb 7, 2018

Cornwall Ontario  – CFN is predicting up to 10cm of snow between late Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning as a prep for the big snow blast this weekend.   The River City is waking up to -15c, but will warm up as the white stuff starts to fall.



Expect as many as 20cm between Friday and Sunday with warmer temps.  Check back for updates!

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Cornwall – Lancaster
  • Maxville – Alexandria
  • Morrisburg – Long Sault
  • Winchester – Newington

Snowfall of 5 to 15 cm today.

Snow is expected to begin this morning across much of Central and Eastern Ontario. General snowfall amounts of around 5 to 10 cm are likely, however areas close to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River may see as much as 10 to 15 cm. The snow will taper off late in the afternoon or early evening.

This snowfall will likely have a significant impact on the afternoon commute. Motorists are urged to exercise caution.

The region is on the northwestern edge of a storm system that will mainly impact the American side of the border. At this point, it appears that amounts will remain below the warning criteria of 15 cm or more within 12 hours.
