Love Hurts in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter for FEBRUARY 26, 2018

ASSAULT, BREACH, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 22nd, 2018 and charged with assault, criminal harassment and breach of recognizance for communicating with her ex-boyfriend and being within 200 meters of where he might be. It is alleged while in the area of Marlborough Street and Second Street on December 31st, 2017 the woman communicated with her ex-boyfriend, assaulted a woman he was with then followed them in her car. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 22nd, 2018 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Jamie Garlow, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on February 22nd, 2018 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on October 23rd, 2017 the man entered a residence without permission and police were contacted to investigate. On February 22nd, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 3rd, 2018.



WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 23rd, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on February 22nd, 2018 for breach of a youth probation order charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 23rd, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Chantal Turcotte, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on February 23rd, 2018 and charged with mischief and breach of undertaking for communicating with a certain person and failing to keep the peace. She was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on February 8th, 2018 the woman attended the residence of the person she is to have no contact with and damaged a window. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 23rd, 2018 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 23rd, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for communicating with his ex-girlfriend, being within 100 meters of her and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man was found to be in breach of his conditions when police were investigating an unrelated matter on February 23rd, 2018. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Jodi Adams, 45 of Akwesasne was arrested on February 24th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on February 24th, 2018 when he was stopped at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 13th, 2018.

Cornwall, ON – Lauren Seguin, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on February 26th, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol on February 26th, 2018 when her car struck a hydro pole on Eleventh Street. Police were contacted, attended the scene and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 13th, 2018.

CARE AND CONTROL

Cornwall, ON – Barbara Southwind, 41 of North Bay was arrested on February 25th, 2018 and charged with care and control. It is alleged on February 25th, 2018 the woman was found to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when police responded to a suspicious vehicle call. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 13th, 2018.

POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON, BREACH OF A PROHIBITION ORDER

Cornwall, ON – Zachary Myers, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on February 25th, 2018 and charged with possession of brass knuckles and breach of a prohibition order for being in possession of the weapon. It is alleged the man was found to be in possession of brass knuckles when he was stopped at the Port of Entry on February 25th, 2018. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 3rd, 2018.
