Cornwall Community Police Service Blotter for Monday March 5, 2018

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 2nd, 2018 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to attend school, not abiding by house rules and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 2nd, 2018 the youth failed to attend school and police were contacted to investigate. The youth was taken into custody during the investigation, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, OVER 80, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Erick Legue, 40 of Cornwall was arrested on March 2nd, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80 and possession of marijuana. It is alleged on March 2nd, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Seventh Street and York Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop and found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 15th, 2018.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 2nd, 2018 and charged with assault and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on March 2nd, 2018 the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.



BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 2nd, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for being within 500 meters of his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged during an investigation into a possible breach, police found the man to be residing within 500 meters of his ex-girlfriend despite his conditions. He was taken into custody on March 2nd, 2018, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Richard Massia, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on March 3rd, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to report to police on January 15th, 2018 as per his conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 3rd, 2018 the man was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 29th, 2018.

There were 156 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
