Cornwall Community Police Service Blotter for Monday March 26, 2018

THEFT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Gilles Desforges, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on March 23rd, 2018 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 23rd, 2018 the man entered a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2018.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Michael Chicoine, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on March 23rd, 2018 and charged with assault with a weapon, threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged on March 23rd, 2018 he assaulted a man who was known to him and threatened him with a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 12th, 2018.

RESIST ARREST

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Belanger-Boudrias, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on March 24th, 2018 and charged with resist arrest. It is alleged on March 24th, 2018, while police were investigating an unwanted person call, a struggle ensued and the woman began kicking at police. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2018.



THREATS, BREACH, DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED, THEFT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Eric Bialkowski, 19, of Windsor was arrested on March 24th, 2018 and Curtis Griffith, 30, of no fixed address was arrested on March 25th, 2018. Both men were charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Curtis Griffith was further charged with the following:

• Threats
• Breach of recognizance (for operating a motor vehicle)
• Breach of probation (failing to keep the peace)
• Drive while disqualified
• Theft under $5000

It is alleged on March 24th, 2018 both men were in possession of a stolen motor vehicle and during that time, Curtis Griffith, a disqualified driver, attended a gas bar and fueled the vehicle making no attempt to pay for the fuel as he left the area. The man also allegedly made threats to harm a man known to him and police were contacted to investigate. An investigation ensued, at which time it was learned the man was wanted on several outstanding warrants. On March 25th, 2018 the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants by Ottawa, London, Windsor and Smith Falls. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Eric Bialkowski was also taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 26th, 2018.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 25th, 2018. He was charged with breach of recognizance for being within 200 metres of his ex-girlfriend’s residence, failing to reside with his surety, failing to notify police of a change of address, and failing to abide by a curfew. It is alleged on March 24th, 2018 the man was found to be in breach of his conditions when he walked by the residence of his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2018, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

There were 116 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in over the weekend (8am Friday to 8am Monday morning).
