Cornwall Community Police Blotter for March 27, 2018 #CCPS

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Lynch, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on March 26th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to comply with a recognizance order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 26th, 2018, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THEFT, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 26th, 2018 and charged with criminal harassment, theft under $5000 and threats. It is alleged on March 26th, 2018 the man repeatedly communicated with his ex-girlfriend and made threats to harm her boyfriend. The man also attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and removed property without her permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 26th, 2018 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Shonna Godfrey, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on March 26th, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 5th, 2018 the woman failed to notify police of her current address, despite conditions of her recognizance. Further, it is alleged on March 23rd and 24th, 2018 the woman removed merchandise from a Brookdale Avenue store and a Second Street East store, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and a warrant was obtained for her arrest. On March 26th, 2018 the woman was located by police, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

There were 58 calls for service in the City of Cornwall in the last 24 hours (8am the previous day to 8am the day of the release).




PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision and is asking the public to come forward if they have any information about this incident.

At approximately 12:20 pm on March 24th, 2018 a 19-year-old male was travelling in a red Honda Civic, west-bound on Water Street, at which time the vehicle struck a building at the corner of Water Street East and Adolphus Street. The male was transported to the Cornwall Community Hospital with serious injuries.
