(STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY, ON) – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 259 calls for service from Thursday May 10, 2018 to Monday May 14, 2018.

 

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             11 Motor Vehicle collision

–             16 calls for Police assistance

–             17 911 calls

–             33 traffic complaints

–             17 Traffic enforcement occurrence’s

–             11 RIDE Programs

–             3 Fraud related calls

–             6 Domestic disputes

–             6 Assault calls

–             3 Mischief calls

–             2 missing person

–             4 suspicious activity calls

–             7 theft calls

–             7 alarm calls

–             3 Break and enter calls

–             4 Impaired driving occurrences

–             2 sexual assault occurrences

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(SD&G) – On May 10-13, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

 

– May 10, 2018 – 12:55pm (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 132km/h (60km/h zone)(Paragon road). Male driver (33) from South Glengarry, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 10, 2018 – 2:27pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (26) from Vaughan, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 11, 2018 – 10:53am (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 158km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (22) from Barrie, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 11, 2018 – 5:51pm (North Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 137km/h (80km/h zone)(County road 20). Male driver from Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 12, 2018 – 6:58pm (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 135km/h (80km/h zone)(County road 25). Male driver from Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 12, 2018 – 11:16pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 166km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (63) from Toronto, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 13, 2018 – 2:59am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 176km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Male driver (19) from Montreal, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– May 13, 2018 – 9:02pm (North Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 134km/h (80km/h zone)(County road 43). Female driver from Ottawa, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

 

ASSAULT- DOMESTIC

 

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 10, 2018 at approximately 1:38am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his girlfriend. Further investigation revealed that the male had caused damage to the victim’s property and had stolen some of her property as well.

 

A 32-year-old male of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Assault ( 2 counts)

– Mischief

– Theft under $5000

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on May 22, 2018.

 

 

DANGEROUS DRIVING

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 10, 2018 at approximately 6:02am, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont Dundas and Glengarry officers attempted to intercept a vehicle following a traffic violation on Merkley Street, South Dundas Township. The vehicle was located and failed to comply with the request and continued on until it was successfully intercepted by officers.

 

Kyle SUMMERS (35) of South Dundas, Ontario is charged with;

 

– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer

– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle

– Possession of a controlled substance

– Drive While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 5, 2018.

 

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON- DOMESTIC

 

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 10, 2018 at approximately 5:10m Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult female had assaulted her husband. Further investigation revealed that the female had caused damage to the victim’s property and had assaulted the victim with a weapon on two previous occasions.

 

A 41-year-old female of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Assault with a weapon ( 2 counts)

– Mischief

– Assault

 

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on June 12, 2018.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVERS

 

(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On May 11, 2018 at approximately 1:15pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 34 in South Glengarry, Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

 

Brian McCuaig (67) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 6, 2018.

 

 

(SOUTH GLENGARRY,ON) – On May 12, 2018 at approximately 12:02am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401 in South Glengarry, Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

 

Ian THOMAS (31) of Akwesasne, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive a motor Vehicle while impaired

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 29, 2018.

 

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 13, 2018 at approximately 6:30pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on Froats Road, South Dundas Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.




Timothy HUBERT (41) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 5, 2018.

 

(NORTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 13, 2018 at approximately 9:30pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 43, North Dundas Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

 

Alexander ROBERTSON (69) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on June 5, 2018.

 

ASSAULT- DOMESTIC

 

(NORTH STORMONT,ON) – On May 12, 2018 at approximately 6:40am Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his wife. Further investigation revealed that the male had caused damage to the victim’s property.

 

A 33-year-old male of North Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Assault ( 3 counts)

– Mischief

– Criminal Harassment

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on May 22, 2018.

 

BREAK IN

 

(SOUTH DUNDAS,ON) – On May 13, 2018 at approximately 9:44am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Lakeshore Drive, South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime on May 10th 2018- culprit(s) forcibly entered the home and removed various jewelry items.

An investigation continues.
