CARE AND CONTROL, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Barbara Cleary, 68, of Cornwall was arrested on May 28th, 2018 and charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failing to provide a suitable sample of her breath as directed (refusal). It is alleged on May 28th, 2018 the woman failed to provide a proper sample of her breath upon demand after being found to be in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of York Street and First Street. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 5th, 2018.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 28th, 2018 and charged with assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on May 27th, 2018 the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On May 28th, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.



FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jordan Smoke, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on May 28th, 2018 and charged with fraud under $5000. It is alleged on December 20th, 2017, the man deposited a cheque that did not belong to him into his bank account. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 28th, 2018, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 28th, 2018.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, SEXUAL EXPLOITATION

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 28th, 2018 and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation. It is alleged in August, 2002, the man inappropriately touched his 8-year-old step-daughter. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 28th, 2018 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
